What is L-Valine USP

L-Valine USP is an essential branched-chain amino acid (BCAA), is an energy source for muscles and helps repair tissues. A building block of protein (as are all amino acids), valine also plays a vital role in muscle building, immune-system function, and balancing natural levels of water and nitrogen. The essential amino acid L-valine (Val) is needed for the synthesis of proteins. It is also used as an energy fuel; its complete oxidation requires thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, pantothenate, biotin, lipoate, ubiquinone, magnesium, and iron.

L Valine is found mainly in protein food sources such as soy, dairy. But it is also found in other foods, including some nuts, vegetables, and whole grains.

Valine deficiency can cause many physical and mental side effects such as low muscle tone (hypotonia), hyperkinesia, hyperactivity, excessive drowsiness and delayed mental and physical development.

Valine is non-polar and glutamic acid is negatively charged (acidic).
